On Friday 4th May we were joined by Maria McGrath for her meerkat and penguin encounters!
The meerkats thoroughly enjoyed the attention and extra mealworms, and were in a particularly cheeky mood! One of them even started conducting ‘Sentry Duty’ (where they stand guard and keep watch for any predators) whilst on Marias lap!
The penguins also enjoyed the attention (and especially the extra sprats!)…
We also managed to show Maria some of our newly hatched penguin chicks. It was a great opportunity, as the chicks will soon be off to Longleat Safari Park to start their own penguin colony!
