So with just under two weeks until I head off on my trip to South Africa, I wanted to have a little practice and write my first ever blog post!
Although there is still lots of preparation and organising to do, I am starting to get very excited!
SANCCOB have kindly sent me lots of information so that I can read up on some of the species I will be working with, particularly the penguins.

Here at the park we have Humboldt Penguins (found in the wild in South America). In South Africa however, I will be working with the African Penguin (also known as the Jackass Penguin). I am really looking forward to finding out the similarities and differences between the two species.
One of the essential items I will be taking with me on my trip is my camera. Photography is one of my favourite hobbies and I can't wait to get out there and take lots of photos! I am hoping as I go along that I will be able to upload some of them to the blog so everyone back home will be able to keep up to date. For now, I have added a few of my photos that I have taken here at the park so far this year....
