TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE!

ARE YOU READY FOR CLOSE ENCOUNTERS AT THE ISLAND’S LARGEST, MOST BEAUTIFUL WILDLIFE PARK? THIS YEAR’S ISLE OF WIGHT’S WALKING FESTIVAL IS BEING LAUNCHED ON SATURDAY 7th MAY AT SEAVIEW WILDLIFE ENCOUNTER. ADVENTURERS WANTED!

The Walking Festival is one of the biggest events on the Isle of Wight’s annual tourism calendar. Each year it attracts thousands of visitors to the Island who take part in an ever-growing choice of wonderful Island walks - from gentle strolls to athletic outings (7 – 22 May 2011).

To host the launch, Seaview Wildlife Encounter is arranging a fun-filled family day for a once-off special entry price of only £5.00 per person (includes Park entry and a guided walk! NB: Walk group numbers will be limited). So come on and join in with the activities including two guided Park walks taking place at 9.45–11.45am and 1.45–3.45pm).

SPECIAL CELEBRITY APPEARANCE ….. DIPPY THE PENGUIN…..officially opening the Walking Festival at midday! Children are encouraged to dress up as Penguins and will be judged at 4pm. Isle of Wight Radio will be covering the event; there’ll be live music, face-painting, games, a wildlife quiz trail and some really great exhibitors such as a wood-turner, a selection of special scarecrows, face-painting for children, and many other treats! Nine wildlife keeper presentations will take place throughout the day so there’s plenty of opportunity for every guest to be really hands-on and nose-to-nose with hundreds of birds and animals!
